Wilco - One Sunday Morning (Song for Jane Smiley’s Boyfriend)
Heartbreakingly beautiful tune from Wilco’s new album The Whole Love. At the moment it stands as the highlight of the album above the rest.
The National - Exile, Vilify
Dan Mangan - Leaves, Trees, Forest (The Line of Best Fit Session)
Fun Fun Fun Fest Line-Up

Typhoon live at Newport Folk Festival
Unfortunately for me I was half a country way from this past weekend’s premiere music festival all the way over in Rhode Island, but thanks to NPR and all of its wonderfulness I can sit in my uncomfortable computer chair and listen to full concerts as if I were actually there. I know, it seems a bit bitter sweet, however, it’s totally worth it. Typhoon is an up and comer that I am really looking forward to seeing live, but this little recording of their show at THE Newport Folk Festival will have to do for now. Because I am in a friendly mood and want to streamline your listening capabilities, here are a few other shows from the festival that I wish I could have seen:

Frightened Rabbit - Fuck This Place (feat. Tracyanne Campbell)
Some of my favorite Scots are back with some new music and this time they are teamed up with fellow Scot, Tracyanne Campbell of Camera Obscura. Frightened Rabbit is releasing an exclusive three-track EP while on tour this summer with Death Cab for Cutie, but lucky for you we can listen to it on the interwebs until we see them live and pick up the album. Enjoy and check out “Scottish Winds”, the second of the three tracks off the EP.

Beirut - Santa Fe
2 days till the Digital Release of The Rip Tide. If you weren’t all that excited about the album you may be after you hear this track. I know it got me pretty amped up. Enjoy.

The Weeknd - Trust Issues (Remix)
I have a new favorite Canadian and his name is Abel Tesfaye.
If you know the original version of this song you would know that it’s a Drake original. With all due respect to Drake, The Weeknd made this track his own.

The What Cheer? Brigade wanders the grounds of the Newport Folk Festival today, performing for crowds.
Wishing I was at this festival right about now, but I guess the live stream will do. Thanks NPR.
